We hired RTDJ pretty short notice as far as wedding timelines go, but they were super flexible and even cut us a discount because our venue had its own sound system. I should start by saying that Ryan and I grew up in the same church, and he's a friend, so I knew he would do a good job. However, he far, far exceeded any expectations my wife and I had. We were both incredibly satisfied with the job that Ryan did at our wedding, and we highly recommend him. He really went above and beyond just simply being a DJ and MC. He also kind of served as our personal gopher, and he made sure that everything ran smoothly during the reception. And it did indeed run smoothly! We both felt that, in a way, he was kind of like "the glue" of our wedding -- he held it all together, freeing us to just enjoy the day. I know that probably sounds over-the-top, but I mean it. Ryan is an incredibly hard-working guy, and I know he'll deliver the same quality to you as he did for Laurie (my wife) and me. 

Once the dancing started, he also did an excellent job of keeping the party atmosphere going. There was never a lull in the dancing; it just kept going, and everyone had a good time. In fact, Laurie and I left at around 11 p.m., but we were told that everyone else kept partying until around 1 a.m.! On top of that, he was very responsive to what we wanted as far as the type of music played. I know that some DJs just kind of play whatever they want, but Ryan made sure to steer clear of anything we didn't want, while at the same time still playing great music. 

One more thing that I should mention is that Laurie and I had an outdoor ceremony, which as far as sound and everyone being able to hear us from the front, could've been awful. However, Ryan is very knowledgeable when it comes to sound engineering, and he set up speakers for us outdoors that were hooked up to small microphones we each wore, and, as a result, we didn't have any issues with sound.

Ryan Thero exceeded our expectations as not only a DJ, but as our wedding over-seer.  Before the wedding date, he was very flexible in meeting with us to talk over all of our options and answer all of our many questions.  And not only questions about his services, but how weddings work in general, since we had no idea how to plan out many of the details for the wedding day, like the timeline, how much time to plan for what, how to delegate jobs, etc.  He is extremely knowledgeable about how weddings work and was extremely helpful and essential to our planning process.

He also contacted all of our vendors ahead of time, making sure that everything was still in order and if they needed any questions answered or any further help.  Each of my vendors mention how kind Ryan was and how much they appreciated his phone call.

During the ceremony, Ryan supplemented with music perfectly, and with all of the songs we'd requested.  He ran everything perfectly from start to finish, and the reception was more beautiful and more personalized than we could have ever hoped for.  The sound systems were fantastic, everybody could hear well, and the volume was perfectly set.  He has his own sound equipment and he is extremely accommodating for extenuating circumstances - our wedding was outside, on a hill, very far away from outlets.  I don't know how he did it, but he did, and he did it perfectly.  Thanks to his flexibility, we were able to get married where we were hoping to.

During the reception, Ryan made sure everything ran flawlessly.  He would give us friendly reminders when we were close to time limits, and he would remind us of those traditional wedding reception things that we wanted to do and when to do them, like cutting the cake, throwing the bouquet, certain dances, etc.  He kept us on point the entire night.  He kept the night moving, and because of him, we had the opportunity to partake in all of the wedding festivities we hoped to.  I loved that Adam and I could just mingle and dance and celebrate with our families and friends, without having to keep track of time or coordinate ANYTHING.  Ryan did everything for us so that we could do nothing but enjoy that time together, just like he said he would, and just like the wedding night should be for the bride and groom.

Ryan's music choices were TERRIFIC.  He played a wide variety of songs to please a variety of guests, as every wedding has.  Everybody had an amazing time.  We got compliment after compliment about how much fun and how beautiful the wedding was.
